Note* | Her grandson, David Anderson, and her became very close after the death of her son Victor. He would visit her often and she would tell him stories of her lifetime. She was very loving and giving to her grandchildren. David was outdriving with a friend when he drove by her house and noticed an ambulance in front of the house. He quickly parked in front of the house and ran inside, finding his grandma Grace had suffered a major heart attack and lying on the floor. Her other son Lester was out of town, as was David's mother. David went to the hospital with his grandmother where she remained in critical condition for three days before passing on. In stories that she would tell about the family, she stated that her granduncles and grandfather fought for different sides during the Civil War. Her grandfather fighting for the Union and her granduncles fighting for the Confederacy. She stated this caused a great deal of problems within the family and many members became estranged for the rest of their lives.
