Anderson of 428North Second St., died this morning at 1:40 oÕclock at Monmouth hosptial, where he was admitted Monday evening. Born November 24, 1899 at La Belle, Mo., he was the son of Quinn and Ella (McGraw) Anderson. His fatherÕs death occurred when he was an infant, and since the age of five, he had been reared by hismother and step-father, Charles Brent. At an early age, he moved with his family to Warren County, and attended the schools at Ellison and Roseville, and was graduated from Gem City Business college at Quincy. His marriage to Frances Parsons took place December 25, 1927, at home where the couple was presently residing. She survives along with a son, Dr. Jack R. Anderson of Mountain View, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Kay) Brooks of Galesburg, and a twin son and daugther, Quinn and Judy. There are four grandchildren, surviving as well as a sister, Mrs. Burl Boyd of Long Beach, Calif. Besides his parents and step-father, he was preceded in death by a grandchild. He was a member of theFirst United Presbytarian Church, and of Monmouth Lodge No. 3; A.F. and A.M. and the Moline Consistory. At one time he was a partner with Lambert Engdahl, operating the E. and A. Motor Sales. For 12 years, he was employed with the Caterpillar Company. During World War II, he worked for the corps of engineers with the Green River Ordinance Plant, operating out of Butler Manufacturing of Galesburg. Recently, he had been connected with the Columbia Feed company of Kansas City, Mo., and also retained an active interest in farming. Funeralservices will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Holliday and Hoover Memorial Chapel in charge of the Rev. John Eastwood of Hammond, IN, a former paster of hte First United Presbytarian church here. Burial will take place at Monmouth Cemetery. The family will be at the Chapel Friday from 7 p.m. until 8. Friends may call at the Chapel. | |

Note | Francis Anderson was the only brother to stay in Harrison County, KY his entire life, but all his children left. James Hunter Anderson and his brothers grew up in pretty hostile territory of KY and was definitely the wilderness when they were kids. The families property was in some of the best agricultural land in the Blue Grass. Gentle rolling hills and the grass is definitely a beautiful blue hew to it. | |

Page 320 FRANK ANDERSON, a widely and favorably known citizen of Schuyler county, is Superintendent of the poor farm of that county, in which capacity he has served since March 1, 1891. He was born in Schuylercounty, in Huntsville township, on May 15, 1836, and has lived in that vicinity ever since. His parents were William and Prudence (Wallingsford) Anderson, both natives of Kentucky, who were married in their native State, comingto Illinois in 1835, and locating in Huntsville township, where they cleared and improved a farm of 640 acres. On his property he built a substantial and comfortable residence, besides barns for grain and stock, and added many other modern improvements, the land being under a good state of cultivation.He died in August, 1887, aged eighty-seven years. His wife still survives at the age of eighty-five years, supported and comforted by her kind and loving children. The paternal grandparents of our subject, Andrew Anderson and wife, were natives of Kentucky, who removed to Schuyler county, Illinois, in an early day, locating near Rushville, where the grandmother died. The grandfather died in Camden township. They had eight children, six sons and two daughters: William, father of our subject; John, Jeremiah, Riley, Jackson and Perry, and two daughters. The parents of our subject had ten children, of whom seven arrived at maturity. Cyrus died in Huntsville township, Illinois; Andrew, died in Huntsville township; Jane married Danforth Cady, and now resides in Camden township; Vincent resides in Huntsville township; our subject comes next in order; John died in Camden township; and Sarah, now Mrs. SamuelMcCadann, of Camden township.
