Note* | HARRISON COUNTY DEED BOOK 3 PAGE 196 This indenture made this 7th day of March in the year of our Lord 1811, Between John Cartmill and William Cartmill of Harrison County & State of Kentucky of the one part and John Ward of the other part of the County of Harrison and Commonwealth of Kentucky. Witnesseththat the said John Cartmill & William Cartmill for & in consideration of thesum of twenty six dollars to them in hand, paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and forever acquit and discharge the said John Ward, do grant, bargain, sell, alien and confirm and by these presents have granted, bargained, sold, aliened & confirmed unto the said John Ward, his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying, situate, being in theCounty of Harrison on the waters of Flat Run and bounded as follows. To wit:Beginning at two sugar trees, running thence East 6? [looks like 6] poles toa blue ash and stake, thence North 78 degrees, East 123 poles to a Hackberry, elm & honey locust, thence North 62 degrees, West 6 poles to a stake, thence South 28 degrees, West 123 poles to the beginning, containing by survey four & one half acres. Which said tract or parcel of land together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining, they the said John Cartmill & William Cartmill doth by these presents, warrant and forever defend to the said John Ward, his heirs, exrs., admins., and assignes from the property claim or claims or demand of any person or persons whatever claiming the same and this shall in all respects be considered as a general warranty deed. Witnesseth that the said William Cartmill for and in consideration of the sum of forty eight dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and forever acquit and discharge thesaid John Ward his heirs and assignes forever, a certain tract or parcell ofland lying, situate and being in the County of Harrison on the waters of Flat Run and bounded as follows, To Wit: Beginning at a Buckeye and running thence South 63 degrees, East 12 poles to two small ash trees, thence South 30 degrees, West 46 poles to an ash and sugartree, thence West 13 poles and threefourths to a honey locust, thence North 29 degrees, East 81 and half poles to the Beginning. Containing by survey five and three fourth acres.
