Robinson wife, 2 children. from Schuyler Co, IL., newspaper sent to me by Eleanor Williamson - SIXTY YEARS MARRIED - Mr & Mrs Wm. B. Underhill Pass Anniversary in Quiet Way Mr & Mrs Wm. B. Underhill celebrated the sixieth anniversary of the ir marriage on Monday. The day was passed quietly at the home on East Jefferson street, tho there were numerous friends called to congradulate the ag edcouple. Mr. Underhill is 82 years old and his wife will be 83 on Monday. B othare active, in good health, and aside from a partial loss of the husband ssight, fave few infirmities. Mr. Underhill, in giving his age, always say s heis two months older that the State of Illinois, (which was admitted to the Union in 1818), and is proud of the fact that he was a resident of the state w henthe people voted on the adoption of the new contitiution in 1848. This happy aged pair were married at Zanesville, O., July 23, 1840 ,and came to Schuyler nearly 63 years ago. Eleven children were born to them ,five of whom are living. One son, Charles, lives east of town, another i s aresident of Canton and the others are in McDonough county. Mrs. Underhill is a Daughter of the Revolution by virtue of fighting ancestors on both sides of her family tree. Both her great-grandfath ersand both grand-fathers were in arms against King George's men. One of the grand-fathers was also in the was of 1812. She has a fund of revolationary lore that one does not find in textbooks, and as her memory is bette r for events of half a century ago than for the occurrences of recent years ,it is of the pioneer days that she prefers to talk. Mrs. Underhill has a mode lkitchen garden in which she passes most of her time. A cotton plant, now i nbloom is a curiosity she has for the entertainment of visitors. The plant grow sslowly in this climate, but by september will be covered with fluffy snow whit eballs. With a single exception Mr. & Mrs Underhill have been married longe rthat any other couple in this section. Mr & Mrs Edward Bertholf celebrated th eir sicty-first anniversary last winter.
